My Older Sister

I'm introducing my older sister because a, she's amazing, and b, she's too busy studying for finals that I wonder if she'll ever get around to posting anything herself.

She's the mother of five incredibly well-behaved children, which is surprising considering how rotten she was. (Let me just say the stories are legendary.)

Two weekends ago, I tried to buy tickets for the upcoming Garth Brooks concert in Los Angeles. And if anyone out there understands the ridiculous level of celebrity that Garth (yes, we're on a first name basis) has reached, you won't be surprised to hear that the concert sold out in five minutes flat.

I was seriously disappointed. Distraught even. I was almost brought tears. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Thirty minutes later, in the car, I hear a Garth Brooks Update on the radio. He's just added a fifth show! A fifth show!! I turned to Hubs (a.k.a. the Husband, a.k.a. the Sports Fanatic) and said "Are you freaking kidding me?!"

I dove for my cell phone and quickly dialed the first person I could think of. My mom. She didn't answer. So I dialed the second person. My mother-in-law. Again, no answer. Finally I dialed my sister.

And, boy, was that a frustrating conversation! I yelled "T, get on the internet and go to Ticket Master! You have to get me Garth Brooks tickets! Hurry!! They're going to sell out any second!!"

And my sister responded, "Okaaaaay. Let me see heeeere. Let me get over to the computer. Ticket Master you said? T-I-C-K..."

I was going to kill her. I thought there was no way she could move or talk any slower and why the hell hadn't my mom answered!? Didn't they understand what was on the line here?!

But sure enough, just when I was ready to cut her out of my life forever, my loving older sister said, "Hey, I got two tickets!"

And look what came in the mail today:

T, I love you. You have no idea how much this, or you, mean to me.

And I forgive you for the time you slapped me when I was just a little girl.
