Today I'm celebrating (and I use that term loosely) my 7th anniversary at work. 7 whole years with the same company.
When I started working for The Hotel, I had just barely turned 18. I had just barely gotten my driver's license. And I was about to embark on a career.
Seriously, this was what I wanted to do with my life. I loved the idea of hotels. I wanted to own a hotel.
But, in 7 years, a lot can change.
For instance, I moved out of my parents house and enjoyed a 3-month stint of living on my own. And, let me just say, if you haven't tried this before, do so. Immediately. Oh, what I would give to live on my own again...
Just kidding. Sort of.
I moved in with my then boyfriend of only 6 months. Because he told me he loved me.
Just kidding again. Sort of.
We got engaged and then married and we've moved from southern California, to the beautiful central coast, and back again.
In 7 years, I've met wonderful friends (Hubs included), some real weirdos (Hubs included) and some who have brought out uncontrollable anger issues (Hubs included).
And, in 7 years, I've discovered that... I really don't like people all that much. (Yes, I realize it's not the wisest decision to admit this on a blog where I'm hoping to attract readers, who also happen to be people, but if I can't be honest here, then where?)
So, after all that's said and done, after all the assholes I've had the misfortune to encounter and "assist", I've come to one conclusion...
I'm pursuing photography.
Happy anniversary to me.

LOL! Yes, people can be assholes. At least with photography, no one has to talk, eh?
Congratulations on 7 years. I can't believe 7 years has gone by since you started working for the Marriott!
