Happy New Year!!!

I have been lurking on the blogs for several hours now. I haven't figured out how to add someone's blog to be followed, or however you say it. I clicked on two of them but I don't see where I have them saved as "favorites" or whatever.

My home smells like something burned down. I have had these papers in the back of my car for almost a year. They are "highly confidential" documents that I keep meaning to shred. I can't just throw them in the trash. I keep forgetting to take them into my office, so tonight I put them in the kitchen sink and lit them on fire. I didn't know a small stack of papers could smoke so profusely. It has been several hours and the place still smells like the remnants of a beach barbecue.

I didn't mean to be up so late on New Year's Eve. Tom went to bed a couple of hours ago. I had planned to do the same thing, but I ended up perusing the blogs here and I drank several Rum and Eggnogs. I don't understand why I don't feel inebriated. I am on my fourth and my spelling is still impeccable. Actually, I'm not sure if I spelled "impeccable" correctly, but I don't think that if it is spelled incorrectly that that is indicative of a level of inebriation. I don't know how to spell "impeccable" anyways. Anyways, there's a lot more Rum so the night's not over.

So, the main point of the blog is to be the first of the Western Windbags to say "Happy New Year." It is 2008! This coming August, we will be able to say "8/8/08"! And, every day in August, it will be "8:08" twice a day!

My son, Travis, was born on 8/8/87. I have always lamented the fact that he couldn't have held off on being born for one more year. I think Prince Harry had the good manners to wait until 8/8/08.
