And tomorrow night kicks off the start of a huge weekend!Garth Brooks is performing at the Staples Center and yours truly will be there. (You can read all about my frustrating efforts to buy tickets here.)
If you haven't heard about this event, it's pretty incredible. He's doing five concerts within two days to raise money for the Southern California fire intervention relief efforts.
After watching the press conference this morning, they are expecting to raise upwards of ten million dollars! That is an insane amount of money. Oh, what I could do with that amount of money. The lenses I could buy! Sigh. I suppose it's going towards a much better cause.
When Hubs and I flew home from New York in October, we flew right into the smoke from said fires. And let me tell you, it's really a sad sight to see your hometown in flames. (And the turbulence... my God, I don't think I've ever prayed so hard...)
So, since the Windbags here are all from Southern California and these fires hit really close to home (literally) I'm going to help myself feel like a much better person and link some sites where you can make a donation should you so choose. Hey, I donated! I bought tickets, didn't I?
By the way, the first concert tomorrow night (the one I'll be attending) is going to be televised on CBS starting at 9pm. You won't be able to miss me. I'll be the crazed fan charging the stage and locking myself around the other love of my life. (I sure do have a lot of those. Don't worry, Hubs, you're the true love of my life. You steal my heart every time you do the dishes.)
