Teaching

Did I tell you that I am going to school to be a teacher? Well, I have been thinking about it; I really haven't been too sure.

I think that I might be a bit crazy, but if you read the posts from my mother (or my sister) you will see where I get that from.

Yesterday, I had to sit in a 5th grade classroom for the ENTIRE day. 9:00 A.M. - 3:30 p.m. It wasn't so bad. I was able to help the teacher, which was nice. I hate having to just sit there and not do anything.

The kids were awesome, but I guess that isn't the norm. They did it for my benefit. I do think that 20 kids to a teacher is a bit much. With me there helping her, it felt just right at 10 per each of us. I think that all teachers with a kid count of 15 or more should get a teacher's helper each and every day. Too bad there is a teacher shortage because of the horrible pay.

At the end of the day, I was exhausted. I had a huge headache and I had to come home and deal with my 5 kiddos. I have to remember that if I teach.

All in all, I could totally picture myself teaching. So, I guess that is the direction I will take.
