Yesterday morning I encountered just such a specimen. He was green and had wings and I wasn't about to stand around any longer and try to take in any more details than that. As I got ready for work, I stayed locked in the bathroom, slowly creeping out to leave only when I absolutely could not wait one more minute.
When I came home in the afternoon, The Green Monster was waiting for me. And he stayed all day, crawling around the same foot of space.
I finally told Hubs to get rid of it. I knew the bug was just biding his time, waiting for an opportunity to attack me when I was at my most vulnerable.
But then I heard a voice say, "Wait! Let me take a picture!"
I must be hearing things. What freak would want to take a picture of this terrifying creature, who, even now, was getting ready to fly into action.
Then I realized it was ME. And, as if I was floating above myself, I watched my hands reach for my camera. I then got into position, coming as close as TWO FEET to the monster! And I snapped a picture.
Unfortunately, in my heightened state of fear, my pictures didn't come out well. So, I shoved the camera at Hubs. "Honey! Take a picture!"
Laughing, he did what he was told.

There he is. The Green Monster.
After that, I couldn't let Hubs kill him. The monster had taken on a personality. Hubs carefully scooped him into a cup and took him outside.
It was the right thing to do.
