Needing Magical Powers

TeeterWe have a new recreation center that is opening up down the street from me. It is going to have the largest indoor aquatic center in the state. It's going to have a full gym and rock climbing, karate and gymnastics, and lot's of other stuff. We are very excited.

Today, I went to sign up #4 for swim lessons that start in 2 weeks. Spaces are limited and everyone wants to get their kid in them. The city was supposed to have sign-ups on the website on Saturday. It didn't happen. On the website it said that in person sign-ups would be today, a time wasn't listed. Apparently, I was the only one that didn't know what time sign-ups would be at.

I walk up to the city offices at 2:15 pm and see a sign on the door that sign ups would be from 9 am to 11 am. How in the hell was I supposed to know that? I go inside to talk to the Rec. People about this. There is nothing they can do. Insert sarcasm here --> But, the website should have the correct link tonight so I can see IF there are any spots left for my #4.

UGH! I will tell you why I didn't know what time the sign-ups were. You see, you don't have to have magical powers. You just have to be Mormon. You just have to go to church with the people in charge and the ladies that know everything to know what is going on. Since we don't go to the Mormon church, we don't get to know when things like what time swim lesson sign-ups are going to be.

Every time something like this happens, I wonder if it will ever change. I don't think so. It's been 4 1/2 years since we moved here and it is no different now than it was when we didn't know anybody.
