Held at gunpoint and forced to take pictures of Jacaranda Trees.

OCD At least, that's what it felt like.

And it occurred to me after the fact that I really don't enjoy taking pictures of trees. At least not with a wide-angle lens. There's just too much shit going on. I would have prefered to focus on one small part of the tree.

Anyway. It was Mother's Day and I did what I had to do.

So, here you go, Mom.

I like this one because the tree looks huge compared to the car sitting beneath it.

The best thing to came from this whole experience was watching The Student try to climb one of the Jacaranda trees. She eventually made it up, posed for a few cute pictures, and then got stuck while trying to climb down. The kicker was when she started to get nervous and said "Can you please stop taking pictures now? Seriously?"

It was awesome and I'll be sure to post those pictures soon.

I think that the pictures came out very well, etc., but why do they not look as purple as they do in person?

Thank you, OCD, for taking the pictures.

I think they look as purple as they do in person. Maybe, mom, you're colorblind.

Maybe the camera's color blind.

Actually, now that I look again, they DO look as purple as the "live" version. Thanks for taking the pictures, OCD.

Okay, I passed some Jacarandas today and I saw them in front of a big white building and it ocurred to me that the color might not be coming out well enough against a blue sky. The colors are too similar. Maybe we should try taking pictures of them against a white background?
